Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga

& Sound Healing

Both Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga and Sound Healing share a common foundation rooted in healing. Prenatal yoga is specifically designed to alleviate discomfort in the pregnant body, simultaneously preparing both the body and mind for childbirth and subsequent healing. Postnatal yoga aids in restoring strength to the body post-birth and encourages gentle movement. Sound healing leverages the vibrations of sound to bring a calming effect to the body and mind, contributing to the healing process for a busy mind.

  • Misa Schillaci

Misa found yoga in 2013 while searching for something gentler than running and to help deal with everyday stress. She found far more than she ever expected beyond the physical practice and immediately dove deeper into yogic studies.

After losing many loved ones in 2016 including her father, she enrolled in yoga teacher training, and in 2017 completed her 200-hour at Asheville Yoga Center - in part to honor her father who was a professor and taught others throughout his lifetime. The beautiful support of her peers in training led to it being a form of therapy.

The gift of yoga transformed her outlook on life, allowed her to heal and to make a deeper spiritual connection which she had been missing her entire life. In giving back, she always holds a safe space for practice and advocates that yoga is for everyone to find and connect to what they need in that moment.

Teaching a slower, more powerful vinyasa flow in Atlanta, she found the style very meditative while connecting breath and movement. When she relocated to Milwaukee in 2017 she began teaching vinyasa and corporate yoga classes. When she became a mama in 2018 she turned her focus to teaching gentler practices and completed her 85-hour prenatal yoga training at Milwaukee Prenatal Yoga Community. She now teaches pre/postnatal yoga at North Shore Wellness Collective, yin & yoga nidra and hatha yoga classes at Invivo as well as various styles of yoga classes around the community.

  • Parisa Shirazi Chavoya

Hi everyone! My name is Parisa Shirazi Chavoya (she/her). I am a queer, Iranian-American yoga teacher and sound healing guide who has a passion for curating trauma-informed healing modalities. I was introduced to yoga in my early twenties and it took time for me to feel comfortable with the practices. In my late twenties, I lost my connection to my body and was searching for a healing practice. I found peace through attending free community yoga classes and felt drawn to learning more about the sacred healing powers of yoga.

After working in higher education and community organizations for 7 years, I decided to pursue work in the wellness field in 2022. The journey of deepening my yoga and sound healing practice has helped me heal from traumatic life experiences and cope with mental and physical ailments. It’s a great privilege to now be able to support others in this journey as they explore their mind, body, and spirit through accessible embodiment practices.

  • Serena Kujawski

Serena found yoga as a teenager when her mom started yoga teacher training. Since then, she has continued to return to her mat because she appreciates how everything on the mat translates to life off the mat. Her practice has helped her regulate her nerves, adapt to change, and manage stress. After training as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, she chose to become a yoga teacher to expand her knowledge of Ayurveda’s sister science. She completed her 200-hour teacher training through Empower Yoga Milwaukee and prenatal yoga certification through My Vinyasa Practice in Austin, TX.
